Your first 5K in the UAE

A first 5K that fits you.

The distance is only one part of the choice. A clear schedule, a suitable course and enough time to finish matter too. Here is how to read a race listing before you commit.

An early start, away from city streets

Desert Palm X-Country Run 1: 15km/10km/5km/3km

Sat, 26 September 2026 · Dubai

5 km · adult

Advertised entry

AED 175.00

VAT included where applicable. Additional checkout fees are not confirmed.

Adult 19+ shown; juniors 0–18 pay AED 125.

Start & time available

06:25 local start

Finish by 08:15 · 1h 50m from the published wave start, including stops.

Why consider it?

Consider this if you enjoy varied surfaces. The estate course mixes sand, gravel, grass and paved roads, so a road-running pace may not transfer directly.

Before you commit: The provider advertises running or walking. Allow for early bib collection, uneven surfaces and stops when judging whether the published finish window works for you.

Collection, travel & source checks

Bib collection: Opens 05:30 in the field near the start/finish. Bring your emailed QR code and finish check-in at least 20 minutes before your wave. All collection closes at 06:10.

An evening after work

SKECHERS Performance Night Run 1: 10km/5km/3km

Wed, 7 October 2026 · Dubai

5 km · adult

Advertised entry

AED 150.00

VAT included where applicable. Additional checkout fees are not confirmed.

Adult 19+ shown; juniors 0–18 pay AED 100.

Start & time available

19:35 local start

Finish by 21:00 · 1h 25m from the published wave start, including stops.

Why consider it?

Consider this if an evening is easier than a dawn start. The Meydan bridge route includes inclines; treat the conflicting “flat” description cautiously.

Before you commit: Leave time for traffic and check-in. The provider publishes a firm course closure, so include stops when judging the time available.

Collection, travel & source checks

Bib collection: Opens 18:30; bring your emailed QR code and complete check-in at least 20 minutes before your wave. All collection closes at 19:25.
Premier Online · 13 Sept 2026
Parking: Parking is available; follow signs and marshals to parking, collection and the start line further along the road. Charges are unconfirmed.
Premier Online · 13 Sept 2026
Cut-off: 21:00 for all distances. The provider says unfinished runners will be collected by a sweeper as roads reopen.
Premier Online · 13 Sept 2026
Course: Meydan Royal Bridge route. Course highlights mention hills, although another FAQ calls it flat. Treat it as a bridge course with inclines; measured elevation and lap count are unconfirmed.

Provider lists a minimum age of 6.

Start & time available

07:00 local start

Check the category’s cutoff or timed-lap rules in the guide.

Why consider it?

Consider this for a city setting at DIFC. The organiser describes managed, traffic-free routes; the precise elevation and lap layout still need checking.

Before you commit: The 5 km starts later than the longer waves. A category cutoff and detailed bib-collection arrangements are still missing, so confirm both before entering.

Collection, travel & source checks

Bib collection: Arrive at least 30 minutes before your wave. Bib collection dates, location and closing time are not published in the reviewed 2026 information.

Our reasons for considering each race are editorial judgement based on the linked information. Source dates refer to the underlying facts. Prices and availability may change; no entry is reserved on Suru.

1. Check who can enter

Find the adult 5 km category and read its eligibility rules. Some events also have children’s runs or restricted categories. Confirm whether walking is permitted if you plan to walk part of the course. If the listing does not say, ask the organiser.

2. Understand the time available

Look for your wave’s start and the finish deadline. A 5 km course with a 60-minute window requires an average of 12 minutes per kilometre, including stops. That is an example calculation, not a rule shared by these events. Use the published window for your own category.

3. Read the course details

Check the surface, number of laps and any published elevation or access information. A road 5K and a trail 5K can be very different experiences. A short distance does not automatically mean an easy or accessible course.

4. Plan the whole morning

Add bib collection, check-in and travel to the start time. Confirm the final entry cost and what is included. If timing, terrain or a category rule is missing, resolve it with the organiser before you pay.
